I've been doing some intensive testing recently on traffic exchanges promoting my new squeeze page to build my list.

I used TS25 as it's great for testing! - credits get used very very fast so you tell within a day or two whether your site converts and you can run a few campaigns at the same time to split-test your pages.

Here are some tips you can use that got me 4 subscribers in about 2 hours:

1. Keep your squeeze page minimalistic. The only things you need are: short but powerful headline, eye-catching graphic and opt-in form. That's it! No bullets, or paragraphs. Remember, your reader only has 10-20 seconds to see your page.

2. You will get the most subscribers around night time EST. This is the time when traffic exchange surfers are out surfing the exchanges. This is the time period that got me 4 subscribers in 2 hours! Other time periods are notably more quiet. So the idea might be to not use up all your credits in one day, spread them over a few days (this can be done in TS25). For example instead of using up all my credits on the first day, I spread them out over a few days.

By the way, another great site for split-testing your squeeze pages is Traffic Pods. You can purchase 5000 credits (or 1000 visits) for $9.99 ($7.99 if you join as a premium member) you can use up your credits for a few days and see if your sites works for generating subscribers.

The key with traffic exchange success is to use short squeeze pages or splash pages to capture subscribers. Get this part of the equation right, and you can build a list really quickly with them.
