Forums can be a big time killer too. I use them as a wider promotional strategy, but I try to visit them only after my main work activities are done. It can be easy to get caught up in the latest forum hype or discussion, so visit forums only after work.
3. Use Instant Messaging Only For Important Issues
IM is another big distraction. Sure, you can set your status to 'Away' or 'Busy' but since you are not going to use the program in this mode anyway, it's best to keep it off so you can focus on building your business.
4. Write Down A Daily Step-By-Step Action Plan
Have a daily list of steps that you need to take each day to move forward your business. These can be advertising sources that you will use each day, or other various steps that you need to do to market your business, or provide content to your subscribers. Long-term goals help give direction to your day-to-day operations. Set 3-month, yearly and 5-year goals. Where do you want to be? If you know this answer, you will find the steps and take the action necessary to go to where you want to go.
