But, if you get their email address, you'll have the chance to earn their trust. They'll get to know you, get to learn more about the publisher and have time to create a buzz about the product.

Then, a couple weeks or months down the line when they see the sales page again, they're much more likely to take the time to review it and make a purchase.

So how do you go about setting up and using a list?

How do you get their email address? To get someone to give you their email address you need to offer them something. It needs to be a pretty good offer. In other words, give them a good reason to give you their email.

Get them elated about whatever it is they'll get for free if they gave you their email.

Now you have them on your list, what do you do next?

Your objective should be to build more credibility and trust. Send them content that actually helps them while demonstrating that you are an expert in that niche or topic.

Remind them that there's a lot more they can learn by actually buying the product.
Include a brief sales pitch for the product in every other email.

After a week or two of outstanding content, send them a powerful and hard-hitting sales email. Summarize the advantages of the product, slip in some proof and put in a strong call to action.

Use and maintain this process of content > content > mini sales > content > content > strong sale.

Mix in other products to promote to your list. Maybe some of your readers don't want to buy a particular product. That's fine. Promote other related products to the list.

The intention isn't to sell one specific product, but to optimize your earnings per visitor.

Using a list can boost your conversions significantly. It can double or quardruple your ROI, sometimes even more. Keep in mind to start by collecting emails with an enticing offer or promise then email good content with an occasional sales pitch.
