Top Ten Tips To Amazon Affiliate Success
This is the most CRUCIAL step and will determine if your site will be successful or not. It is also what most beginners find the most tedious and frustrating.
There is no getting away from the fact that this takes TIME and it should not be rushed because as mentioned it is the most important step.
Try to think outside the box and go for things with less competition and steer clear of Televisions, Car GPS systems, Camera's etc. While those can be very lucrative its not recommended a beginner tackles them because there is so much competition.
Think about building a site that you may be able to incorporate building a list and reselling to them in the future, Hobbyist sites are great for this.
Don;t be afraid of choosing very high priced products. The general concensus is to choose products in the $100-$200 range but there is nothing to stop you from promoting HIGH dollar products, and I mean in the thousands, even $10,000 and above,
I have a site that sells an item for just under $11,000 and while I don't sell too many of them over the year it still equates to $500+ Commission each time I sell one and when you consider the cost to build the site this is a massive profit over the year for a single site .
The absolute best linking strategy is using engaging copy and linking to your product via inline text that means writing good copy with subtle calls to action within the review. An example of this might be
There were 65 real customer reviews of the XYZ product all giving it 4-5 star rating if you would like to read these reviews you can do so here.
Some say widgets work but I have not experienced that and my experience is that inline text links out perform them every time.
As for pictures on your review site, be sure to link those to Amazon also and be sure you have the product name in your alt tags.
Competition can be stiff for many niches and products, but what if you knew about the product before it was even available in the stores or on Amazon ? This has been one of my biggest earners on Amazon and I have over 30 product sites out there sitting at the top of Google just waiting for the products to hit the market.
This strategy takes extreme patience and you may have to wait several months before you start to see income but when it does the pay off is big. What if you had known about iphone before the masses had even heard about it or a new television or other potential product that hits big.
The way to find these gems is to do research looking for trade shows in different niches. At trade shows they always introduce new products for the coming year and if you can get a hold of them you put yourself way ahead of everyone else.
For example, I registered FijitFriends.net and .co.uk back in January when it was announced at a trade show, I built the site instantly, and had it online for almost 7 months in 2nd position making loads of pre order sales on Amazon, when it finally came out, I was really Kickin it on Amazon, I even bumped the Manufacturers off top spot of Google, unfortunately I infringed on the trademark by registering the EMD and got a C&D right as it hit the market in july. BUMMER
I had to take my sites down. In the meantime a fellow warrior registered the name in july with toys on the end and is now Kickin it but I was 6 months ahead of him, I could of picked any domain unfortunately I picked an EMD which was trademarked, a lesson learned.

While I was bummed out I was not worried as I have many more examples like this that are making me very good money on Amazon.
Another great way of finding new products is you can also subscribe to tech blogs or follow sites such as Cnet and Engadget, you can also subscribe to manufacturers news letters which is always a good idea as you get breaking news on New products.

all of them are gone but it gives you an idea of how to look for new products.
Also if I was in the US or Uk I would be subscribing to lots of magazines which have all sorts of cheap offers for yearly subscriptions and then each month search for new products and announcements, in fact Im so cheap I would probably just head to WH Smith or Walmart and spend some time sifting through the magazines and making notes
whatever it takes.
Finding just one product this way can make you thousands in Amazon Commissions
This is just one of the many strategies that has made me thousands on Amazon and one product like this can make you thousands over the life of the product which is around 18 months or more.
