AdWords is often a tricky marketing avenue to get started with for the first time. It is a complicated marketing system and if you don't do it right, you could lose a lot of money if you are not careful. 1. Get A Product Or A Website Ready Whether you are promoting your own product or an affiliate product, be sure that your product is top quality. Always read the sales letter of an affiliate product to see if it will sell well. If you are using your own website, make sure it is professionally done (it's also a good idea to build a list of subscribers from your own website, as it is a source of repeat traffic). 2. Build A List Of Keywords Get a list of keywords ready. Do your keyword research by going to Wordtracker or using Google's own keyword tool (you can find it within the Google AdWords control panel). Try to build a big keyword list of possible. But do make sure the keywords are targeted to your market if you want profitable keywords. 3. Write 2-3 Ads For Your Campaign Why 2-3 ads? Because you'll be split-testing them to see which converts best! AdWords allows you to rotate a few ads for an ad group. For example, you can rotate two ads each appearing an almost equal amount of times each. Then you can see which ads have garnered more clicks and you can also use Google Analytics (also available within AdWords) to see which ad got more sales.
