Here is why I believe focusing too much on traffic generation tactics is actually a bad thing for traffic generation...
You can give someone any tactic, be as specific as possible, and people are going to try it out for a few days, perhaps see mediocre results, and give up on it. Sure, people will get excited. It's like the new hot thing. But very few will really carry it out over the long-term.
They will spend one week on one tactic, the next week on another.
If you focus on ten tactics in the beginning, really work your socks of at them for one week, and see which tactics are getting results, that will give you a clearer view, faster.
This blueprint, or whatever you might want to call it, puts you on the right track. It gives perspective to the whole methodology of traffic generation.
If you focus purely on the tactics (and I have fleshed out tons of article marketing tactics on this forum already. How many actually carry them out with a big picture view of the end result? Probably very few), what you'll have is slipshod results.
Too many people are merely repeating what others have said, or what they have read in ebooks, which is why success is not too aplenty.
You've got to think differently in terms of traffic generation. Probably about 1 in 10 online entrepreneurs generate enough traffic to make $1000 a month, let alone $3000 or $5000. When you think differently, you will start to see your traffic explode because you are operating from a different zone to others. You will begin to see exceptional results.
