When you tell people you're going to start an Internet business or that you already have one, most people go like this: "There are millions of websites on the Internet, it's impossible to make any money online." Is that sentence flawed? You bet it is, and let me tell you why.

The big numbers are actually a good thing for you. It actually means everyone is harder to find. Think about it. When you do a search on Google on a topic, you get back millions of results. Most websites will never be found.

So how can you be successful? The answer is just to generate traffic. As long as you get a few hundred visitors a day to your site, you'll be able to earn a solid income online. It doesn't matter how many competitiors your niche has, because everyone is not going to find them all.

The Internet is a numbers game. There are millions of new people coming online. That means new customers. Achieving this offline is very difficult. Think of a small business located on a street. Most of its customers will come from the neighborhood. It doesn't have a worldwide reach, let alone a nationwide reach.

On the other hand, when you go online, you can generate any amount of traffic if you put your mind to it. All you have to do is advertise your business consistently and traffic will come. As I said, competition is pretty much an irrelevant thing.

And that's why niches that are profitable will always remain profitable if you have a good product that people want and you know how to drive traffic to your website.
