Arrow The Ultimate 6-Part Affiliate Market - Product Selection Checklist

One should surely agree that choosing the right affiliate product is one of the golden keys of affiliate marketing success. But many people get it wrong! They either choose products that are shoddy or have too many competitors competing to get the sale.

Here's the 6-part affiliate market and product selection checklist I personally use to consistently find winning affiliate products to promote:

1. Is The Salesletter Top-Notch?

Would you buy from the salesletter? Does it have a strong, enticing headline? Are the graphics professional? Does it have a compelling story? Does it spell out the benefits?

2. Does The Product Deliver?

Email the product owner to get a complimentary copy. Most of the time, product owners will be willing to give you a copy if they know you are promoting it. Others might ask whether you have promoted other affiliate products successfully before.

3. How Many Affiliates Are Promoting It?

On Clickbank, you can get a measure of how many affiliates have promoted a product recently. This can be done by checking out the 'Gravity' statistic. Too many affiliates promoting it might mean it is too competitive to try and promote it. However, a nice number of affiliates promoting means the product must be selling well.

4. Are There Any Payment Leaks On The Sales Page?

Some product owners might include several payment options on the sales page, such as using other merchant accounts and this will not credit you with the sale. Always check out for this.

5. What's The Commission Payout?

For digital products, you'd definitely want at least 50% of the sale. Also, make sure you are getting at least $20 for every successful sale. For physical products, a typical commission rate is between 4% up to 20% at most.

6. Are There Powerful Affiliate Tools?

Does the merchant provide affiliate tools such as banners, sample classified ads/pay per click ads to use? These tools make promoting the product a breeze.
