By now, you probably know that building a list is one of the things you really should be concentrating on online. Too many 'gurus' make list building sound like its rocket science. The truth is, it's really simple. You can get started with this plan as soon as tonight. Let me show you how I do what I do with my 3 steps to building a list with a free ebook:

1. Create An Ebook

This ebook will be the one you are giving away. It can be around 30-50 pages at most. You can either write the ebook yourself or get a freelancer to do the job for you. What I do is I first create the contents page, then sections within the content page, and this makes writing the ebook easier. When you have written your ebook in Word, convert it into PDF format using Adobe's free tool on their website.

2. Load Up An Opt-In Page

An opt-in page is pretty easy to create. Do a search for 'opt-in page templates' or 'squeeze page templates' on Google and you'll have some to get started with. The headline is the most important part of your opt-in page, next are your bullets. You'll need an autoresponder to build a list. I recommend either Aweber or Get Response.

3. Send Loads Of Traffic To Your Opt-In Page

Start sending traffic to your completed opt-in page. Some ways to send laser targeted traffic include article marketing, pay per click marketing and ezine ads. Personally, I use at least 3 to 5 traffic generation methods as this diversifies my traffic sources as well as maximizing the amount of traffic I get.
