I have been outsourcing some of my work actively in the past few months. Outsourcing is a fantastic way to move your business forward, but the real trick is in finding the right people to do the job. Once you find the right person, stick with him or her. Don't change.

Here are 3 simple steps to finding an effective freelancer:

1. Post Your Project At A Freelancing Site

Some popular freelancing sites you can post your project on include Get A Freelancer, Guru and Elance. These sites receive tons of visitors who are freelancers looking for projects to complete.

2. Juice Up Your Bidding Process

Showing the bids is better. It creates a price war.

But do beware of bidders who bid too low, especially for stuff like content writing. That raises a lot of red flags. The person will most likely have terrible grammar and/or use rehashed content spinned by one of those article spinner software.

Also, I have two rules for writing project descriptions. If the project is a simple one like writing an ebook or an article, I will keep it short and to the point. If it's for something technical like PHP or Javascript, I will list out all the details needed.

3. Size Up The Bids

Size up all the bids. Look at the freelancer's ratings and read the feedback they have received for previous projects. Take a look especially to see if the freelancer has completed similar projects before.

That's it, those are my 3 simple steps to finding the right freelancer. When you find the right one, remember, keep him or her for future projects!
