You've just created a blog, and now you want to drive traffic to it and start generating some cash. But where do you start?

Here are a few of the things I do to drive traffic to my websites and blogs. It doesn't really matter whether it's a blog or a website, the principles and sources for generating traffic are pretty much the same.

Article marketing: Submit a volume of articles to the top article directories. By volume, I mean hundreds or even thousands. Either arm yourself with the skill to write well and fast, or/and hire another writer to do the work for you. My aim is to duplicate myself so when I submit 5 articles a day, my writer will also submit 5 articles. This means double the traffic, double the profits you make.

Link swaps: Find a way to exchange links with other website owners. It could be a link on their blog or website. If you build an email list, wait till you have 500-1000 subscribers, then do mailing swaps with other email list owners. A great place to go to buy links is Digital Point's forum. Go to their Trading section and you'll be to buy tons of one-way or two-way high PR (Page Rank) links to your site.

SEO: Since you have a blog, it will be great for SEO purposes. Get tons of backlinks to your site [buy them, write and submit articles (as above), link swaps (as above)]

There you go, 3 top ways to generating traffic to your blog. Just one tactic for a month, and in 3 months, you'll have some nice residual traffic coming in on a daily basis!
