A sofa eventually has to be replaced, but information is a growing beast. Did you know in the last few years, the amount of information in the world has almost doubled? This is because of the speed of the Internet. When information gets old, new information is created. It is constantly in a state of flux.

The people who are getting richer these days are selling information.

Let's look at an example: Bill Gates. He sells information on cheap discs for hundreds of dollars each. Yet it is not the disc that people buy, it's the information. And Windows constantly updates its products (information) every few years.

Competition has become no excuse for failure. The 'niche-fying' of the the world has led to people with interests and sub-interests. Everyone's lifestyle is now a heavily customized one. With information, the only weapon you need to sell like crazy is a different angle.

However, the right mindset is also crucial for success.

Let's think of this person who wants to start a business and let's call him Jack. Jack is a worrisome person by nature. Calling him a risk-taker is like calling a cat a dog. He often dreams of starting a successful business but always speaks these words to himself: 'what if this happens?', 'what if something goes wrong?' and goes on to list all the things of why he won't succeed.

Successful entrepreneurs today look at why they will succeed as well, and they make things happen. The inquisitive mind can be a powerful mind when it (pardon the pun) puts its mind to it.
