The purpose of copywriting is to promote or publicize your products or services and invite your readers to become your clients. If you create an compelling and persuasive copy, you will clearly define what you are offering and create urgency within your readers. Copywriting and sales go hand in hand. to When you create great copy, your sales will increase.

Keep your information clear and simple to understand. You need to answer the questions who, what, why, where, when, and how. If you leave your readers with unanswered questions, you are opening up possible objections. If they are confused about something, they will most likely not purchase your product or service.

As you write, try to write from your readers' point of view. People want to know "what's in it for me?" Your goal as a copywriter is to answer that question. What is your product or service going to do for your reader? Why do they need it?

You need to highlight the features and advantages of what you are promoting. For instance, if you are promoting an informational product you developed on creating websites, you may add a line such as "this product features a video tutorial that will give you the opportunity to follow along and watch me create a sample website".

By tweaking the line to read "this product features a video tutorial that will give you the opportunity to follow along with me as I create a sample website. This will provide you the practice and assurance you need to build your own website" gives your reader a reason to purchase your product.

Great copy needs to have a call to action. Don't get so caught up in detailing your products that you forget to ask the reader to buy the product. Many "calls to action" include the phrases "buy now", "call now", "click here now". If you don't ask for the sale, you won't happen. Many potential customers (or people in general) only read the opening and close of sales letters. Ensure you add a call to action at the beginning of the letter, and include a P.S. section at the end that closes with a call to action.

When you make your readers an offer, give them an offer that is too good to pass up. Offering a discount for a "limited time only", for example, entices them to act quickly. Other incentives include a special bonus, like a free report, templates or membership to a PLR site included with their purchase. In order to boost your sales, create urgency and determination within your reader to purchase NOW.
