Many people dislike or even hate their 9 to 5 job and would love to quit and start their own business but their family depend on their paycheck. For some, their job is okay but it doesn't pay well and they would like to supplement that income with a secondary income. You've heard there is money to be made on the internet, but you're not certain where to start.

Yes, you can earn an income with an online business. One of the best places to start making money online is to provide a service. In other words, it's taking what you are an expert in or what you have successfu with offline, and doing it online. Maybe you're not sure about what you have to offer, but consider your past and current job experience, plus what you like to do. Keep in mind, what you like to is usually what you're good at.

Below I listed a few examples of income-producing service jobs:

Ghostwriter - Write articles, blog posts, speeches, reports, press releases, resumes, ebooks or physical books for other people. You are a writer for hire and if doesn't bother you if someone else puts their name on your work... as long as they pay you well first.

Virtual Assistant - You can offer many different services as a virtual assistant what service you choose to offer depends on your knowledge. You can specialize in transcription or go broad offering typing, writing, researching, emailing, correspondence, newsletters, phone calls, transcription, scheduling, backlinking or whatever a custiomers might ask you to do.

Graphics Design - This can include logo, newsletter, ezine, and website design for online or offline companies. Additionally, Internet marketers can hire you to do graphics packages complete with a website header, footer, ebook cover, ad banners, and buy now buttons.

Consulting or Coaching - Here's your opportunity to use your knowledge expertise to work for you. Offer your expertise and knowledge to companies searching for what you're offering. Many consultants find their first customer is the company they just left.

Following a service-type business model means you not only need to do the work, probably on someone else's time schedule, but you have to constantly market yourself to attract in customers. Eventually you may have enough repeat business and word-of-mouth customers that you don't have to actively pursue them.

The downside to this is you are a one-man operation and you can only earn as much as you can physically complete. But, you can expand your business and take on a manager role by hiring others to do the actual work for you.

This is a solid business strategy many internet marketers start with. Review your options so you can determine which online service business your most experienced with and enjoy doing.
