In the first part of this blog post, we looked at several ways you can repurpose your blog content to attract more, targeted traffic to your blog. Continuing in the same vein, we've got more tips and more WordPress plugins that will help you make the most of your existing blog content.

Break up an existing eBook into separate blog posts
The reverse works just as well. If you've already got an eBook on a certain topic, why not break that up into short articles or blog posts?

Break an article down into keyword rich tweets and social media profile updates
Take one of your articles and break it down into 140 character, tweet sized chunks to share on Twitter.com, or you can use them for status updates on Facebook.

Take an article that has a series of tips, bullets or sub-headings and write a complete blog post focusing on one bullet point.
Writing posts with lots of bullets and subheads makes your content more digestible by your visitors, who are most likely only skimming the text until they find something useful to actually read. Take one of those tips or bullet points and expand on it to make a complete blog post.

Read through old blog comments and find ones that contain questions that you can answer in a blog post, or find comments that make good points that can be elaborated upon in a blog post.
If you've got a smart, lively, engaged audience, then why not put them to good use by letting them give you good content ideas. Collect the comments with questions and do a 'Q and A' post, or answer them individually if there's enough ground there to cover in a single blog post. Some comments will add new information. If it's accurate elaborate on it and make a new blog post about it. If you question its validity, maybe you might challenge it and talk about why.

Expand an article's topic into a webinar
This is an example of a bullet that could take a whole article or even an eBook to expand upon, but don't get me started. . . Webinars are a great way to educate and inform your audience, build your opt-in list, and generate some extra buzz and traffic.

Take an article on a timely, popular topic and create a webinar with it. All you really have to do is create a power point presentation that you can talk through in front of an audience. The cool thing about webinars is that they keep on generating traffic the first time when the event is live, and when you offer access to the recording.

Host a poll for a week and then write a post about it
Create a poll on a topic that your audience is talking about. After a week or so of gathering responses, post the results and write a blog post about what the poll revealed about your audience's preferences.

Interview a satisfied client and ask them about their experience with your product or service.
Have you gotten any rave reviews lately? If so, thank the people giving them and ask them if they would agree to be interviewed by you. Prepare a few questions and then schedule a time to talk to them on the phone. Have them dial a conference call service so that you can record the call. You can then post the audio, and have your virtual assistant transcribe it into an article or two, or a slide show. . .

Compile related posts into an email auto-responder series
Auto-responder sequences are an effective way to keep your audience interested in your topic while they are in that holding space of receiving your free content, but maybe not quite ready to make a purchase. Break up a group of articles into short, value-packed emails that include a link back to your site. Drip them out twice a week and every now and then invite them to try one of your products or services.

Rewrite a blog post into an article and publish to article directories
This is just basic article marketing, and if you are not doing this with your blog content you are missing out on a nice stream of targeted traffic to your website. Article marketing does still work even post Panda updates, but you've got to focus on good quality content that is keyword rich and focused. Over time as the volume of articles that you have got out there grows so will grow the traffic back to your site and the number of relevant back links, which will help your search engine rankings.

Plugins:
Here are two more WordPress plugins that you can try that can help you repurpose your blog content:

WordPress.com Popular Posts
Similar to the related posts plugin, the Popular Posts plugin creates a list of the most popular posts on your blog and places it in the sidebar, which can attract even more attention to them.

Editorial Calendar Plugin
This plugin can help you become more organized and even more productive with your blogging because it allows you to see when posts are scheduled on a monthly calendar. You can drag and drop posts and even edit a post right from the calendar. You'll wonder what you ever did without it once you try it.
