Not everyone was gifted with the ability to write. While the Internet has made it possible for anyone to talk about anything at any time, that doesn't mean that what everyone has to say on a given topic is going to be entertaining, informative or even readable. Because we're not all Shakespeare, I thought it would help to give you two absolute must have article writing tips that have helped me through the years. I have little doubt that they'll help you as well.
Tip #1: Spelling and Grammar Still Count
I still remember sitting in English class in High School wondering when you would ever use all those silly rules and I'm sure you do as well. Guess what? You do need them after all, especially when you are writing articles. Nothing will turn a reader off more quickly than reading an article riddled with misspelled words or other grammatical errors. Lucky for you we live in the age of the word processor and spell check, so even if you barely passed English you're still good to go.
Tip #2: Avoid Writing The Paragraph That Never Ends
Nothing is worse than reading an article - especially online - that seems to go on and on without a break. The easiest way to avoid such monotony is to make sure that you keep your paragraphs to no longer than three or four sentences unless you absolutely can't avoid it.
When it comes to article writing tips, spelling and grammar are definitely at the top of my list. Just remember that spell check is your friend and that paragraphs should not be as long as the page and you'll be okay.
