How many MLM Leads do You Need Per Day?

It seems that around every corner I hear claims such as "generate 500 leads per day for your network marketing business!"
While anyone would love to have 500 leads (or whatever the number for the day is) per month, there are two things that you need to consider:
1. How realistic is it to generate 500 leads per day, and how much will this cost?
2. Do you really need that many leads to be successful in this business?
I'll be the first one to admit that at the time of this writing, I don't generate anywhere near that many leads per day! In fact, one of the most well-known trainers in the MLM industry that I know typically generates only (and I say "only" with sarcasm) 60 leads per day for his business...and is crushing it!
So, While more leads are great, don't think that you need to generate hundreds of leads per day to succeed online. If you are generating 500 leads per MONTH (not per day) and have a great follow up system in place (focused on building relationships with your prospects) then you can be very successful in this industry!
The sheer logistics of generating 500 leads per day is a bit overwhelming. You would need a minimum of 1,200 visitors per day to your lead capture page to accomplish that feat, and to generate that kind of traffic via paid methods (because a squeeze page isn't going to rank in the search engines for SEO traffic), it would cost you a good bit of cash.
In this business, you need to take baby steps. The most important thing is that you start taking action, and set a realistic, attainable goal. Tell yourself that you are going to get a system in place that generates 10 leads per day, and you are going to work on building a fantastic relationship with your list!
Quality always trumps quantity when it comes to generating leads for your MLM business!
