One of the biggest challenges new bloggers will face is establishing a new niche blog in a crowded marketplace. You look around and you see a bunch of successful blogs written by blog celebrities. Their blog posts get hundreds of comments, they attract a ton of traffic, and you wonder how your blog could ever reach that level. But take heart. Even the mega successful bloggers have to start somewhere. In this post we're going to look at some practical things you can do to make your niche blogs stand out in a crowded marketplace, get noticed, and attract traffic. While I can't guarantee you'll become a blog celebrity, if you keep at it, write excellent content, and spend time marketing your blog you will start to attract a loyal following.

1. Find your voice. Speak your mind
The first step in standing out is to show the world your uniqueness. If you use a cookie-cutter blog template, write bland, vanilla, run-of-the-mill content, you're virtually guaranteeing that your blog will remain in obscurity.

The only way to find your voice is to write. A lot. Choose a narrow aspect of your niche, and delve deeply into the topic. The more blog post you publish, the more traffic you will attract, and the more you'll begin to become associated with your chosen topic. That elusive, yet coveted, "buzz factor," will increase as your work begins to raise eyebrows.

Speaking your mind, however, takes a bit encourage. You have to get over being worried about what other people will think and just write what you believe and feel strongly about. Take a position on your topic and you will attract both those who agree with you and those who do not agree with you. A little bit of controversy attracts attention, which is a good thing.

2. Choose a niche you care about
If you are going to write a lot about topic it should be something that you know about, care about, and enough interest in that you can write about it with confidence and passion several times a week. If you simply choose a niche because you think it will be profitable but you don't know much about the topic or care much about the topic you will lose interest quickly. Another benefit of choosing a blog topic that you're passionate about is that your passion will shine through in your writing and attract visitors who share your passion. A blog written by someone who loves the topic is more likely to stand out in a crowded niche than a blog that looks like it's just been cranked out by a content mill.

3. Add your unique twist
Finding your voice in choosing a niche that you care about won't matter much unless you can add a unique twist or as the MBA types like to call it your unique selling proposition. It's basically the thing that will differentiate your blog from all the others in your niche.

You've heard the old saying, "there's nothing new under the sun," but you got to add your unique personality, flair and creative ideas in order to make your blog stand out. Regardless of the niche you've chosen, find a way to express your personality and your passion for your topic. It will become part of your brand and it will give your readers something to talk about and a way to refer to you when they are mentioning your blog on social media.
