Affiliate Marketing Best Practices for 2012

Affiliate marketing is a great way to generate extra income online, and in this article I'm going to share with you a few affiliate marketing best practices for 2012 & 2013.

When it comes to promoting the best affiliate programs, there are 3 criteria that any program must match. I'm very selective about what I promote, because 99.9% of affiliate programs will not match these criteria, which are all part of my best affiliate marketing practices formula.
1. Low priced front offer
You see, in order to make money in affiliate marketing you need a product funnel, and the first product in that funnel should be a low-priced offer. This offer should be anywhere from $10-$40, and can be either a one-time commission or monthly residual.
2. Affiliate products must give you the ability to a high commission per sale
I'm not a fan of slaving away at affiliate marketing just to earn $10 commissions. On the front end this is fine, but there should be $100, $500, & even $1,000 products in your funnel that you can sell to people to earn higher commissions. Most affiliates think selling these high-ticket products is hard...that couldn't be further from the truth!
3. Recurring commissions are vital
I may promote products to my list that only pay me once if they offer value, but I promise you that you can make a lot more money by promoting products that pay you month after month. These recurring or residual commission products enable you to grow your income exponentially month after month.
4. Affiliate programs should be two-tiered.
According to my affiliate marketing best practices for 2012, two-tier affiliate programs are essential. This type of commission structure not only gives you the ability to earn money on the sales that you make, but also enables you to earn money on the sales of your sub-affiliates!
