As many of you know, I'm an internet entrepreneur & work from home the majority of the time.

As such, it is important that I be product while I'm working from home, but at the same time make sure that I balance my work and family life so that neither suffers (if something must suffer it better be your business, because you cannot replace family or get back time with loved ones).

In this article, I'm going to point out three easy things you can start doing today to balance your work and family life more effectively (whether you work at an office or at home).

1. Designate specific "work hours."

There should be certain hours (whether you work at home or at an office) that are clearly designated for work & professional obligations. During this time, you should not talk with family (let them know this is your work time) unless it is an emergency.

2. Have a set "family time."

To balance your work and family life effectively, you must have certain times where you dedicate yourself to your family. Whether this is wife & kids, parents, close friends, etc. you must dedicate a certain, pre-determined amount of time with those closest to you.

3. Surprise your family.

If you are married or have a significant other, then one of the best things that you can do is occasionally shut off the computer, leave the office, and spend some time with them. This is a great way to balance work and family life, and show your significant other how much you care for them.

These are 3 things you can do to show your family they are #1 in your life, and successful balance your family life with your work obligations.
