I have read so many things about indexing. What always seems to amaze me is the lengths that people go to to get Websites indexed!
Indexing is after all the first step to good SEO.
And we all want to RANK HIGH WITH GOOGLE
There are products that you can buy to index your site fast. I know this because I have used them!... with very mixed results.
Some say that what you need are lots of high PR backlinks. I'm sure this helps a lot! but backlinks alone will not force Google to index your site

Use Webmaster tools!
Both Google and Bing offer webmaster tools. (Yahoo is covered by Bing)
I did an experiment recently where I purchased a domain, loaded a few words (so that there was some content) then created an account with google webmaster tools, entered my site and followed all the steps including sitemapping.
My site was indexed the Next DAY!
Really it makes sense when you think about it!
Do what Google tell you and they will pay attention to you!
