Email Marketing Tips - 3 Common Email Marketing Blunders That Derail Profits
- ARTICLES |
Mistake #1: Don't add people to your mailing list who did not ask to be added. Many companies will simply begin adding people to their mailing list whom they have purchased contact information for or have obtained it from other resources online. Never "dry" email contacts! Only email people who originally signed up and asked to be added to your email list.
Mistake #2: Don't overuse your mailing list. Many companies will send out multiple emails every week or month. If a person begins receiving an obscene amount of emails from your company they will unsubscribe from your mailing list, block your email address or report all your emails as spam.
Mistake #3: Don't sell or trade your mailing list contacts with other companies or organizations. If you do this and an original subscriber to your list discovers that you have sold or traded their personal information, they will lose trust in your company and will most likely begin to spread the word that your company does not protect the privacy of their customers properly.
By avoiding these common mistakes, you can ensure that your email marketing strategy will be a great success. However, if you make the same mistakes that others have made, you will quickly find your subscribers list to be ineffective.
