Are you using Google Adwords but aren't seeing the positive results that you thought you would be making? If so, then I know how you feel. When I first got started out in internet marketing, I started my business with pay per click advertising. And needless to say, I wasted (literally) thousands of dollars trying to make my internet business work.

When it came to pay per click (PPC), I thought it was just a great concept and a great idea. So I immediately jumped on the opportunity to join this great program so that I could get instant traffic to my website. Unfortunately, all of that instant traffic resulted in 0 sales.

I was selling a $400 product, and each time I would listen to the "gurus", they would say it's easy as pie to sell a $400 product. They said to simply open up a PPC account, write an ad, add some keywords, then drive visitors to my sales letter page. So I spent about $500 doing this, and NO ONE bought a thing.

As you can imagine, I was very frustrated, and I decided to take it upon myself to learn how PPC works, and how to get the most out of it. This is when I discovered Google Adwords. Before I was using Yahoo's pay per click platform, but little did I know that Google had even more traffic coming through than Yahoo. This was a shocker to me!

I learned from my mistakes from Yahoo's PPC program, and decided to take things slow with Adwords. When I first got started, I wrote a simple ad. Then I started off with an incredibly low cost per click of only 5 cents a click. I was sure I was going to make money with this technique.

And I did! I got my first sale via Adwords, and have been using it ever since. Depending on what you sell, you will have to make the decision as to use the "squeeze page" technique, or lead them straight to your sales letter page. Or, you could even send them to a "pre-sell" page where they get conditioned and prepared to visit your landing page.

But no matter what you do, your products, sales letter, pre-sell page, and opt-in newsletter won't do wonders for you if you don't select the right keywords. If you have a business that sells nothing but red heels, you probably don't want to bid on the keyword "heels".

This keyword is so general that it could be applied to anything. Plus, this keyword will more than likely be incredibly expensive to bid on. The best thing that you can do is to bid on the keyword "red heels", and other variations of it. That way when your visitor reaches your website, you're giving them exactly what they're looking for, and you will improve the chances of having them buy some of your products.

All of this is possible with Google Adwords. Some people make over $10,000 a month with Adwords alone. So if you can find a mentor and soak up all of their knowledge about Google Adwords, this would be a wise thing to do.

Good luck with using these tips to boost the effectiveness of your Adwords campaign.
