You have finished your kindle book, written the description and uploaded it to Amazon but what do you do next? You have spent either a lot of time or money getting your Kindle book ready so you want to do as much as possible to ensure that you make sales.
Luckily there are plenty of fast and easy ways to market a book on Kindle and improve your sales. Book review sites are a type of social network for book lovers. They are a place where authors can list their books and readers can find new books and discuss their favourite reads. Two of the best book review sites are Goodreads and www.Shelfari.com One important thing to understand about these book review sites is that they are social networks and not just places to throw up your book and description. The more you interact with other users on the site the more traffic you will draw back to your own book.
Listmanina Lists
If you have spent any time on Amazon you will no doubt have seen a listmania list. These are lists which are created by Amazon users around a central theme. An example might be “Best Horror Books for Teens.” Or “Best Books for Marathon Runners”. When someone searches for a book on the same topic a listmania list on that topic will appear on the left of the screen.
We can use Listmania lists to promote our own book by creating a list around the topic of our book. For example if you have created a weight loss book for new mothers then you would create a list of “Best Weight Loss Books For New Moms”. On that list near the top you would include your own book. When you create your list you can write a brief description of the book. For your own book you would of course include a favourable description.
Forums
Once you have written your book and uploaded your book you will be given a URL for the books description page. You can then use this URL to help promote your book outside of the Amazon marketplace. One easy way to do this is through forums. For example if you have written a book on “Marathon Training” then a natural place to start would be in one of the runners forums.
