Arrow 3 Tips for Selling Kindle Books

Put the best content first

The look inside option allows people to see the first pages of your book. Your potential readers are going to base their opinion of the rest of the books quality on these first few pages and so it is very important that they are good. If you are creating genre fiction then you want to start with a bang and really grab the reader’s attention. Leave the lengthy character introductions to later in the book. If you are writing non fiction put a killer tip in these first few pages that makes the reader want to learn more.

Write a Great Description

Your other opportunity to really sell your kindle book is its description. Come up with a hook for your book that makes picking it up an irresistible proposition. Your description is a lot like a sales page and should include many of the same elements. If you have written a non fiction book it is a good idea to include bullet points of the main benefits the reader will get from your book. These bullets should address the main pain points that your reader is currently suffering from. If you have written a fictional book it can be a good idea to include a short extract of one of the most interesting pieces of your book especially one which ends on a cliff hanger and leaves the reader wanting to know more.

Understand Your Audience and Write for Them

It is important that you have a good understanding of who your reader is and that you write for them. When creating a book it is a good idea to come up with an avatar which is a profile of your typical customer. Ask yourself what is this person looking for? If they want light entertainment and a brief respite from their day to day world then you should give them that. If they have a specific problem then you should offer a precise solution that meets that need. For example if you are creating a weight loss book with a target market of women in their 40’s and 50’s including too much scientific information about lean muscle gains and complex gym routines might be a turn off even if the information is valid. Concentrate on their problem and give it to them in a format that they will enjoy and understand.
