For example, for each blog post that you create, make sure that you leave a link back to your website at the end of your post so that people can visit your site. Also, if you're hosting a free ebook or free newsletter on the main page of your website, promote this at the very top of your blog where everyone can see.

Joining a forum is a great way to learn new things all while promoting your business at the same time. In fact, with some forums, you can start off as the amateur, and then eventually turn yourself into a pro after time passes - due to all of the helpful information that you have found on there.
Soon you will be perceived as an expert in your niche, and many people will want to learn more information from you. To do that, they will click on your website in the signature of your forum post. And another thing... if a forum doesn't allow you to leave your website information in a signature, don't join the forum. It'll be a waste of time.
