If you would like to be amongst the 5% of the people who successfully launches their own online business and are actually making alot of money from it, then today's lesson will interest you. You 95% of all new businesses who start out this year will fail. Why do they fail? Well mainly because of a lack knowledge about how to market their products and services. And when you think about it... it's sad.

Getting traffic isn't hard at all. There are a number of techniques that you can implement that will help you to get the traffic that you need in your business. And today, I am going to share with you some of these strategies so that you can have a successful business, and not be apart of the 95% group of unsuccessful business owners.

Here's traffic method number 1 that will help you in your business:

1) SEO

SEO or "search engine optimization" is something that baffles many people. Some people have the knowledge of how to take a keyword term and rank it high in the search results of the top search engines. For newbies, they'd rather leave this technique alone. Whenever they hear the term "optimization", they immediately back off and start to go to another marketing method.

This is understandable. There are a ton of ways to get traffic to your website other than SEO. And some of the top marketers online will tell you that they do very little SEO in their business. I'm confident in saying that it's because they are afraid of it... but the search engine algorithms change so much, that it's hard to keep up with the new way to rank high in the search engines. Let's move on to traffic method number 2:

2) Advertising

If you have the money, you could advertise all over the place. The thing with advertising is that you have to make it profitable, or at least breaking even in your business. If you make money per sale, then great. If you break even on a sale, then good. Because you have a free customer that you can market your other products to, for relatively high prices.

Once they've bought from you once, they will be conditioned to buy from you again - assuming that your product or service is good. One of my favorite advertising venues is pay per click marketing. You can test out a niche, test a squeeze page, and even test how responsive it will be towards your marketing efforts.

Pay per click can get addictive, so I suggest you proceed with caution when using this strategy. I personally use pay per click myself, and it delivers good traffic for me. You will want to stick with Google Adwords and Microsoft Adcenter as your pay per click options. They get the most traffic, and you can see good, immediate results from using them.
