Google AdWords Tips - 3 Tips to Put You on the Fast Lane to AdWords Success

1. Track conversion and ROI
Track everything. AdWords will track impressions, click through rate and conversion clicks. Just because a certain ad has a high click through rate doesn't mean it's making you money. Use AdWords' own conversion tracking codes. This is very important - you can optimize your campaigns, turn off ineffective keywords and invest more in the keywords that are turning clicks into profit.
2. Do not join bidding wars
Take a step back and consider how important the number one spot is. If you can justify the cost, fine but otherwise: give the spot to your competitor and settle for number two. If you have better products, it wouldn't affect your click through rates. There is not much difference in the effectiveness of being in the number 1 or 2 slot - just be on the top 5 and you're good.
3. Stick to your weekly budget
When you're starting out, this decision is really important as AdWords can be quite addictive and can get out of hand pretty quickly. Set your advertising budget and don't overspend, no matter how tempting it is to do so. Keywords can work great one day and then die the next. Always monitor how your keywords are working to know which expense to cut loose.
