I have been online now for 10 years since I got started back in December of 2002. For my first 5 years I failed miserably. Lost a lot of money using my credit card to buy program after program. Membership sites after membership sites. Scam after scam. After 5 years, I finally found a good mentor online and a year later started to earn an OK full time income.
What I really hate these days is that fact that there are many programs out there that "teach" regular people how to earn money online and promise that anyone can earn $1000's per month really fast and really easy.
From someone who knows what they are doing and learned from their mistakes and trials over a period of time and are now making great money, it is easy for them to tell others that things will be happening easily for them and on a quicker scale.

If you take someone new today and show them the ins and outs of how to logically and ethically earn money on the world wide web using affiliate programs or 2 tier residual income programs, many of them will not make any money for weeks or even months.
There is a period of time that one new person needs to have in order to master the fundamentals of making money online with their own internet business.
From my own perspective, it takes a while to start doing things that will move your business forward.
For example, it takes time to master pay per click advertising. You are not going to put some ads up and start to rake in the profits right away. There is a good chance that you will lose some money and from this you will learn your lessons. Some people will quit and some will learn from their mistakes and move forward to great things.
Here's another example that I want to share with you. Writing articles to increase your website traffic is a great free source that works well. It will take time for you to learn how to write and submit articles. I can write one up in less then 20 minutes and post it on some article direcotries in less then 30 minutes. Someone new who has no clue, it will probably take them 2-3 hours just to write the whole article and then take them another 2-3 hours just figuring out where to post them for backlinks.
There is a learning curve when it comes to succeeding online. For some it takes a few days. For others it takes a few weeks. For many it will take even a few months. You don't join something online and then the next few days you earn a decent income. It takes time. You will fall down many times. You will face many challenges.
Even those gurus who have excellent products online, they all started at $0 and failed for months and years. But they learned a whole lot of skills to make it big online.
