Who says a page needs to have 500 words? The only search engine that "officially" cares how much content is on a page is Bing. The rest of them could care less and if you have content that is actually useful to the reader, it can be as short at 150 or 200 words and still be useful. Add a video clip or image to the page and it's a solid page for your website.

There are caveats.

First, it NEEDS to be useful. It needs to be useful, interesting AND targeted.

Second, it needs to include references to other information. Unless you quite literally cover everything on that topic in 200 words, you probably skimmed some stuff. Link to other resources that can elaborate (preferably on your own site or with an affiliate link).

Here are some examples of micro articles you can write that are easy fillers for your site:

Video Discussions - Snag a video off YouTube and then write a short description of it with your commentary. This is a common practice on many websites and when done well can actually add quite a bit of value to the video. Keep it short and make sure to reference the video clearly so people know you're actually talking about it.

Reviews of Other Guides - Create a short list of "other guides" you recommend with affiliate links to check them out. It makes your site seem more like a resource than a sales pitch and you make money no matter which link is clicked.

Resource Lists (without links) - Create a list of resources for your readers, but try to avoid any links that will pull them away from your site when they could (and should) be clicking your affiliate links.

Twitter Interviews - Go on Twitter and ask people questions about dating (or whatever your niche is) and post the answers in this section. Show a full list of questions and answers - since these are short they are easy to post en masse and you can link to the twitter profiles for good outbound backlinks.

FAQs - Create a list of common questions based on the product - either related to the review or to the product itself. For example, people often write in to my review sites asking about recurring payments, refund policies, other products by that writer, etc. Just don't place any links unless they are affiliate links of some kind.

The goal of your micro article is and always will be to ADD value to the site. That means it needs to provide a clear, concise, useful reason to keep reading. If it doesn't do that, you should rethink its presence on the page.
