Conversions

There are two aspects in making money with Internet Marketing. First of all we are going to need traffic (see High Traffic Academy) and secondly is what we call conversions.

What is Conversions?

Its actually pretty simple. It tells us How Well a site is doing. How well a site does is based on the percentage of people who go to the site and actually buy something. The average site converts about 1-2%. That means every 100 visitors you send to a site, you'll have an average of 1-2 sales.

Alright here we go, everyone knows that traffic is important. If you have no traffic, you're not going to have any sales. But know that what you do with the traffic is just as important.First of all lets based it on the 1-2% conversion rate? For every 100 visitors that you send, you'll get about 1 or 2 sales. Without sending more visitors, you are able to multiple your sales by improving your conversion rates. Just think of it this way, imagine your site is now converting at 10-20%. So for every 100 visitors, you make about 10-20 sales. That's why some product vendors spend A LOT of money on their sales letters (Over $20,000!) and the reason why they would do that, is to drastically improve their conversion rates.

So what would I need to do to increase my conversions?

The first thing you need to do in your website is to generate trust in the vendor site that the visitor is going to visit. You're going to do this by getting their attention. The visitor is not going to buy anything if they're not going to spend more than 5 seconds in your site. So get their attention first. It's a YOU WIN, I WIN situation. Give them what they are looking for first, then sell it to them later.

To increase conversions to your site, always go through this list.

Know who is your average searcher is.
  • How old are they?
  • How good are they with computers/internet?
  • What gender are they?

Income level

This knowledge will allow you to build a connection with your visitors. Example if you are targeting an audience in the High Traffic Academy niche, you may could to use the terms LOL, roflmao, which could actually increase your conversions with this audience appearing more real and therefore increasing trust with this audience. Compared to targeting an audience who is in the Golf niche, using the terms such as LOL, and roflmao could hurt your conversions as the audience in the golf niche may be an older crowd and not be as fluent with internet slangs.

This is all pretty much common sense. With the main keywords that you have found, think what who is this person and why are they searching for this keyword.

A very useful site you can use to assist you in this is Quantcast.com. (Its free to sign up) Type in your primary keyword into Google and take the first site that comes up. Example if your keyword that you are using is "how to make gold in High Traffic Academy". You will want to just use the main keyword which is just "High Traffic Academy".

Why are they searching for this keyword?

What is the problem that they're looking to solve?

You need to recognize what's causing them to have this problem. The deeper you understand their problems, the better as you will be able to deliver more in depth content which will increase conversion rates.

Example - people who are searching for "High Traffic Academy Traffic Tips". You have to find out why they're searching for this. The reason they could be searching for this is because they are not getting enough traffic. A further understanding would be they are looking to make more traffic from paid advertising. Or go even further - they are stuck at progressing through the industry and therefore need more money to get better traffic.

What are they actually looking for?

Are they looking for a how to, looking for a review of a product, a story or maybe some social proof of what others have experienced?

This is probably the most important thing to look at. You have to give what the visitor is looking for else your visitors even though you know who they are and know exactly why their searching for that particular keyword. You will not have a good chance of getting interaction or catching their attention if you don't give them what they are looking for.

You want the visitors to go to your website, then instantly catch their attention right away. Then give them value first, before selling later on.

Selling - Remember you do not want to hard sell your visitors. Hard selling will turn your visitors off and this will affect your conversions. Instead you want to just casually mention your link.

Hard Selling goes something like "This Guide Will Get You Millions Of Dollars in High Traffic Academy Click Here Now!" which is what you want to avoid, instead use something like this

"To Find out How I Made My First Million Dollars in High Traffic Academy, it's an easy step by step read and I think you'll benefit from it. Click Here"

Creating Trust

Remember that the main reason why a visitor does not buy products online is because they do not believe that it works.

Just think about it, if a visitor is ready to buy a product online, goes to a website and reads the site, the only reason why they would not buy it is simply because they do not trust it! Example; on a website that teaches people to get 6 pack abs. If the website says that get a 6 pack in 21 days of less. The reason why the visitor will not buy it is solely because they don't trust what the site says. If it really works and they truly believe what you said in the site, why wouldn't they buy it?

So your job as an affiliate is to back up the sales page of the vendor that you're promoting. The more trust that you're able to instill trust into your visitors, the more likely that they're going to buy the product. So much so that they wouldn't even need to read the sales page but instead click on the check out button right away.

The way that you do this is by building your site FOR your type of visitor. Make sure your site has personality and is authentic.

Remember - conversion rates are very important. Ignore it and you will lose money right off the block. Do not get lazy with this!

The High Traffic Academy system was build specifically to rank high in the search engines and then have a high conversion rate so that your site can generate loads of money for you. However for this to happen you will need to follow the steps that we have laid out for you very closely. This system has been tweaked over the years and constantly been improving to evolve with the constant changes that Google has gone through.

My Site Isnt Ranked High Enough On Google

Be Patient

First things first, when you make a site, you have to be patient. It takes a few weeks for Google to start to index your site. Don't get too hasty and start changing things in your site. Sometimes your site will be Sandboxed by Google and it may take some extra time but this happens to me and everyone else so be patient.

More Content

If you however after a month or so and you are ranked in the top 3 pages of your keyword search, the best thing you can do for your site is to add more content to your site. This is a surefire way to bump your site up in the Google Rankings.

Keyword Spam?

As the search engines get smarter each day; you want to make sure that you are not spamming your main keyword. This could be from bolding all your main keywords, mentioning it over and over again repeatedly in every single post and page title. Google can easily identify that you are trying to manipulate their system and will lower your rankings or even take you off their search engines all together. Have a few keywords and make them stand out and make it look natural rather than spamming it.

Backlinks

Adding more youtube videos, more social bookmarking, blog commenting will definately help with your site to be ranked. We have a whole High Traffic Academy module on Backlinking.
