2 Bad Internet Marketing Strategies

There are alot of ways to get traffic to your website, but some of these ways are things that you absolutely don't want to do if you want to stay in business for the long run. I'm a big proponent of diversifying your marketing efforts so that if one traffic source dries up, you have other strategies that you can still use to get alot of traffic to your website.

In today's lesson, I want to share with you some marketing tactics that can do more harm than good for your internet business. You will want to avoid using these tactics because they don't work, and will only leave you frustrated, and wanting to walk away from the realm of online business altogether.

If you're desperate in your business right now, the only thing that can tell you is to try paid advertising first to see if you can turn a profit. If you can't turn a profit with paid advertising, then see if you can do it with free marketing strategies like article marketing. If you still can't profit, then you will either want to switch niches, or simply go onto Ebay and see if you can win there on that website.

Well, I want to share with you some things that you definitely don't want to do in your internet business. In fact, let's get right into it. Here's the first thing that you don't want to do if you want to stay in business for the long term:

1) Spamming people

Spam is never good. Now I know your spam folder of your email program could be filled with spam messages, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you should go out and follow the crowd. It's to a point where I don't even look at my spam folder anymore. I used to go in there and delete all the messages in batches, but 1 hour later I would see about 50 new spam messages in my spam folder. So I just stopped dealing with it can let the spam folder automatically delete it after 7 days.

Now if you can understand my frustration with spamming, you should know that alot of people feel this way also. Spamming is just something that you don't want to do, because it's ineffective, and it just doesn't work to provide you with the sales and profits that you are looking for. Here's another technique that you don't want to do:

2) Putting up false testimonials

Now this can really get you into trouble. False testimonials on your website is fraud, and you can really go to jail over this technique. If you want testimonials, create a high quality product, sell it to customers, and ask them for their feedback. You should offer incentives for those who provide you with a photo, or that does a video testimonial for you.

But putting up fake testimonials is something that I definitely do not agree with. Hopefully you can see why - because it's wrong, and if somebody ever pulls your card and asks you for proof of the testimonial, you have nothing to show for it.

These 2 things that you don't want to do in your business are things that you should definitely stay away from. If you put in as much work in creating a legit business than you do with your bad marketing techniques, you might actually have something that can make alot of money for you. Hopefully you'll take my advice to heart.

Good luck with doing the right thing in your online business.
