I know this is a controversial topic, but in needs to be talked about. I'm not saying you should never use keyword phrases and that search engine optimization doesn't require keyword phrases to be successful. Within this article, my only goal is to introduce to you a new way of writing content, which will use more keyword phrases, get you listed higher in the search engines and will capture the attention of your readers easier. If you want higher conversions and you want better traffic, you need to use this strategy.

The Dangers of Keyword Phrases

We've all seen content, which repeats a certain keyword phrase every other line making it hard to read. Even if this type of content became listed high in the Google rankings, it serves very little purpose for the reader. By choosing keyword phrases, you run the risk of repeating them too many times in the content, just because you're trying to optimize for that specific keyword phrase. This is a danger you certainly want to avoid

Out with the Old

The old strategy of shoving a keyword phrase into a piece of content as many times as possible (sometimes as much as twice per 100 words) is no longer valid. Even looking at the percentage of your keyword density is a waste of your time, in most cases. Getting rid of these old methods and thinking in a new way will help you write fresh content, which the search engines will love and so will your readers.

Writing with a THEME

Choosing a theme and set of keyword phrases will help you write better content for your readers. As you write a blog post, website content, articles, reports or any other type of content, start by choosing a theme. Make sure to choose a broad theme if you plan to write longer content. Once you have a theme, you can break it down into sub themes, but they all need to fit with your original message.

Many writers do this by choosing a main theme and breaking it down into tips or bullet points. Creating an outline with sub-themes under a main theme will help you provide better content your readers will lover. After all, it's not really about Google, but about the reader. When was the last time Google read an article or blog posts of yours and shared it on their Facebook profile?

By using bullet points, you will also make the content easy to skip. Most searchers won't read your entire article or blog post anyway. They will choose the parts fitting with what they need and by providing bullet points and sub-headings, they can find the information they want easier. This provides a better experience for your readers and they will come back for more.

Integrating SEO into your Theme

The best way to integrate SEO into your theme, when writing, choose more than one keyword phrase. If you choose one keyword phrase, which fits with your overall theme, and then you create a list of related phrases from that one keyword phrase, you will provide better SEO for your content. Just make sure you only use the keyword phrases naturally throughout the content. You will find, as you write about your theme, many of the keywords you wanted to target end up in the content without your help.
