Authority tagging is a complex social bookmarking and SEO strategy also. But, authority tagging is not one of the more well known SEO strategies out there, but it does work well.

Even though it a more complex social bookmarking tactic, after you've done it a few times it becomes very easy. And once you get good at it, you just repeat it over and over for every new site you want to get ranked.

What are the Advantages of Authority Tagging?

Your probably aware that social bookmarking is an awesome tool to use for getting yourself ranked because of the back links it creates. And it can also generate a good amount of traffic as well. The job itself can be boring and monotonous, but if you are willing to take the time and effort, the end result will be worth it.

What do you do?

It's similar to convential social bookmarking. You first bookmark your site and blog posts onto your main Delicious account, and then add them to the best social networking sites. You do this for your first, second and third tier pages.

What's a three tier structure?

1. The first tier is pages from your website, the second tier is pages that link to your site, and the third tier is simply pages from authority sites you might want to link to. Don't forget to include all three tiers, because they are vital for this strategy to work.

2. First, you bookmark all those pages within your Delicious account, and then submit them to the other social networking sites. After, have the main account setup, adding your links to each new site won't take long.

3. You could also create the bookmarks in all the accounts individually, if you want more control over which pages you add. However, this method takes much longer because you would have to manually setup your bookmarks at each site. The main component of authority tagging is that you just have to bookmark one page, so it is much quicker than doing this separately.

4. Also remember to locate the RSS feeds on each social site. Then you submit and ping them to the feed directories for some extra "link juice." Then just repeat this over and over again.

You can do this same strategy as many times as you want, for as many sites as you want.

Does this strategy work?

Many people have reported attracting as many as 1000 visitors a day to a site that was getting none, because they used this strategy. So it does work, but i simply requires time and effort. You might want to get 5-10 links a day. Don't go crazy, because the search engines like link building done in a natural way.
