Are you a newbie when it comes to using Google Adwords? If you are, then you should know that there are many things that you need to learn about it if you want to have the success that you are looking for in your business today. Google Adwords is very easy to profit from, but you have to learn the ropes before you start seeing any good results with your Adwords campaign.

Now with that being said, you should know that there are alot of mistakes that newbies make when it comes to advertising via Google Adwords. Most rookies go to Google Adwords, sign up for an account, find some expensive keywords to bid on, and then pay for traffic to their website. This is a very poor strategy if you didn't already know.

This is just one of the many mistakes that newbies make when it comes to selling on Google Adwords. In today's lesson, I want to share with you another mistake that newbies make when it comes to advertising on Google Adwords, and how you can avoid this mistake also. Here's the mistake that newbies make all the time:

- Betting the farm on the display (content) network

You can easily go broke with this technique. I can remember when I first got started with Adwords, I saw the display or content network as a great way to make money fast with Adwords. And yes, I got a ton of clicks - but what I didn't know what that my ads were being shown on websites that had NO RELEVANCE to the product that I was selling.

So for example, at the time I was selling a product on how to play basketball better. So my ads for this product was showing up on basketball sites, baseball sites, hockey sites, football sites. rugby sites, and even golf sites. I thought in my mind that all of my traffic was targeted, but I soon found out that the reason I wasn't making any more (and wasn't even generating free leads!) was that the traffic that I was getting wasn't targeted.

Needless to say, I drained my money with this strategy, and wasted alot of time trying to "tweak" things every other day. Don't end up like me. If you're going to use the display or content network, make sure you specify that you want your ads to show up on specific websites. Adwords allows you to target specific website this way.

And when you think about it, it's no different from advertising on high traffic websites. So instead of paying a website owner $100 to advertise on their website for the week, you can choose to advertise on particular sites via Google Adwords. Simply find a website in your niche that is hosting "Google Adsense" ads, and specify this site in the section of your Adwords account where you can choose which sites to advertise on.

This way of using the display or content network is a great way to get targeted visitors to your website, because you know all the traffic from that site is good. Plus, there's a good chance that you won't have alot of competitors also - as opposed to if you were just advertising on the search engine results.

Don't start running ads on the display network if you don't know what you're doing. Take your time and analyze your marketing strategy carefully before you start running ads on this platform.

Good luck with advertising on Google Adwords today.
