Some people online think having success is easy and that they don’t have to do alot of work to make things successful. So because of this mindset, they immediately go and try to advertise like the BIG companies. You know… advertising methods such as brand marketing and cold calling.

However online, you can’t use strategies like these and expect to make alot of money. Instead of doing brand advertising, you will want to stick to something called “direct response marketing”. Direct response marketing simply means that your marketing and advertising campaigns are geared to generating a response NOW.

There’s no waiting. There’s no waiting for “exposure”. Your goal should be to make money right away online. And isn’t this what you want in the first place? So how do you think you will make this dream come true if you’re doing brand advertising? That just doesn’t make sense.

Big companies spend millions on their brand advertising campaigns, and for some companies, it takes them YEARS to recoup that initial investment. I know that you don’t have years to wait when it comes to internet marketing. That’s why you should stick with a reliable model that will push your business over the top, and that will get you results now.

You can’t rely on “getting your name out there”. By the time you finish doing this, you would have wasted thousands of dollars, trying to be like your competitors and the big businesses in your niche. There is a better way of marketing, and I don’t understand why people don’t utilize it in their business.

But I guess when you don’t know much about advertising on the internet, things like this happen. So in a way, I “kind of” understand how you could be confused and use ineffective strategies that revolve around brand advertising. But now that you know the truth, you should drop brand advertising and start using direct response marketing right away.

Focus on generating a lead. Then email to that lead every week or so until they buy or unsubscribe. This is just one way to implement direct response marketing in your business. The more leads you get, the more money you will make - assuming that you have a good product and a good offer.

Whatever you do, just don’t do brand advertising. An example of brand advertising OFFLINE would be running a full page magazine ad and only have 3 words at the top of the ad and then an image that takes up the rest of the space.

And that’s it for the whole ad.

Thousands of dollars wasted.

And example of brand advertising ONLINE would be leading people to a website where there’s a banner ad at the top of the page with a slogan, and the rest of the page takes 4 minutes to load because you have so many scripts and a brand advertising video that takes a long time to appear.

Don’t do this. Be smart about your advertising and you will be good to go in your business.
