All About Location When Marketing Your Business Online

In the offline world of marketing, there’s a mantra that is known by 99% of all new business owners. What is this mantra? It’s simple: Location, Location, Location. Yes, location is very important to the success of an offline business, because people can get tons of walk-ins without doing alot of promotion and advertising.

However on the internet, I’m not sure if a “location, location, location” rule exists. I guess people think that there is such a thing online, so they build a website and expect people to automatically find them. But this is something that you definitely don’t want to do if you want to have success online.

Now if you have an offline business and you’re looking for a way to promote yourself via “location” in the online world, then 1 good way to do so is by signing up to Google Places. You can have people search for you and your listing could show up first in the rankings. There are some things that you will want to do to make your listing stand out from the rest.

On your Google Places page, make sure you fill out all of the obvious stuff… you know… address, phone number, email, and etc. But to jazz your listing up a bit, you will want to include lots of images, and videos of your business also. Google Places has gotten alot of offline business owners new customers.

But there’s another way that “location, location, location” comes into play online. If your business is 100% online, then this mantra exists by you getting your website ranked high in the natural search engine results. This is why web hosting ads say that you can build a beautiful website with their help, and that they can help you to get “found” online. All they’re talking about is search engine marketing and pay per click advertising.

To be honest with you, I think you can save alot of money by doing the web design yourself. All you need is a good website creation tool, and learn how to do “search engine optimization” (and pay per click advertising)… and you will be fine. You don’t have to shell out thousands of dollars in the process for your marketing.

Marketing offline and online are different, but they obviously share some similarities. You will want to take these similarities and implement them in the best way as possible in your internet business. I would even go as far as using offline marketing to get you more website traffic also.

Easy offline marketing can start with direct mail. You can either send out a letter in an envelope or do some simple postcard marketing. They both are cheap, and they work extremely well when selling to backend customers. You will want to implement both of these mediums to promote your website effectively.

Be sure to take these online and offline marketing tips so that you can get as many sales as possible right away.

Good luck with using these effective strategies to get more promotion for your website.
