Opt In Email Lists - What are they?

Opt In Email Lists is a collection of name & email addresses or just an email address of people who opted in to be included. In other words these aren't just cold buyers. These people chose to give you their email address and sometimes name too so they could either be updated on future releases, information, articles, or to gain access to a product either free or not.

Opt In Email Lists are normally managed by online opt in list management sites such as AWeber or Get Response. These sites charge a fee ranging from around $20-50+ / month depending on how many subscribers you have. You can also test drive their services by trying it out for only $1 your first month. These sites make utilizing your opt in email lists much easier as you can quickly format an email to send to everyone who subscribed to your list and track clicks on links you add to the email. So you can test some campaigns and see which ones your list responds to the most.

These Opt In Email lists work by you send an email blast out to these subscribers with a short paragraph or two advertising a product or service and including your affiliate link in it. The user will (or hopefully) click on the link, purchase the product, and you'll get a commission for that sale. If you have 1,000 people on your opt in email list and you get a 5% conversion, then that is 50 buyers. If the commission is $25 per sale, you just made $1,250 . See how powerful they can be? What if the commission was $47 per sale? That's easily $2,350 in your pocket.

Opt In Email Lists - Treat them Nice!

Most people go crazy when they get a list going and start spamming the list multiple times a week. I don't know how many times I have purchased a product on the Warrior forum and subscribed to that person's list only to get multiple emails selling me products within 7 days! I can't click the unsubscribe button fast enough! Your Opt In Email Lists should be treated with kindness as they can easily unsubscribe and then all of your hard work attracting that person to opt in to your email list has gone for not.

Here's a few tips so that your opt in email list will steadily grow and not decline. Only email your list at maximum twice per month. Yes, once every 2 weeks. If i start seeing emails from the same person every week I'm going to either delete it without reading it or unsubscribe. I want that person to actually send me cool products that I can really use, as that is one of the main reasons I opt in to their email list in the first place. Only send your opt in email lists products that you would use yourself. Don't just randomly select a product and send it off to your list. If you never used the product don't blast it out to everyone yet. Purchase it (or ask for a review copy stating you have opt in email lists with hungry buyers that could use the product), use it, and if you really like it then send it out. Fairly simple process here folks.

So there you have it, a simple tool that every internet marketer should be using in their arsenal. Now, think building your list is daunting and impossible?
