Every blogger's goal is to have a ton of followers. A bigger audience means we can get our message out to more people and achieve more profit from our efforts. Boosting your following is not complicated but it's going to take time and work. However, if you're willing to invest time and labor, it will be a worthwhile goal. Countless bloggers only concentrate on the writing aspect of blogging; they overlook the work they need to boost their blog's following. Although, creating exceptional content is a great way to attract traffic and spread the word about your blog - it's not enough.

Ensure you devote time, effort and of course some cash to boosting your following.

Below I listed several tips on boosting your blog following:

- Make your RSS feed easily visible and encourage visitors to sign up.

You can have the obligatory RSS button in your side bar, but remember to encourage visitors to sign up in your posts and instruct them how to directly.

- Build your mailing list.

We'll be talking about list building next as it is extremely crucial; probably even more important than your RSS feed. Unless you serve a real techie audience, more of your readers will usw email more than RSS, so don't forget to ask your visitors to sign up every opportunity you get.

- Make friends with others in your niche.

Here's another crucial thing blogger never seem to take the time to do. Make meaningful friendship with other bloggers, product sellers and website owners in your niche. This means more than liking someone's status on Facebook. It means talking directly with people and establishing friendships. And why should you make friends? Well, it's very simple. Friends are more likely to share your blog URL, your content and your products. So make lots of friends and do the same for them.

- Use social media to supplement your following.

Today, social media is often the focal point of many people's web experiences, especially younger potential followers. They routinely go to Facebook or go to Twitter and they read blog posts. They use these sites to find news and other information there. You definitely need to be seen in social media, so there are a several of things you have to do:
  • Add sharing buttons on all your posts. That way your readers can share your content with their social media connections. And also get involved in a few strategic networks where you can attract a large part of your potential audience.
  • Buy ads. Sometimes buying traffic is the quickest way to grow your following. You can buy ads in newsletters, on other websites, on Facebook and even through Google Adwords. Don't be be wary to invest a little money to make a lot.
  • Guest blogging and other content contributions. Contribute content to other people's blogs, podcasts, reports and websites as much as possible. It's an easy, free and it works great. It's a fantastic way to reach new audiences and establish your credibility. Seek out opportunities that will give you a lot of exposure. And keep in mind not to turn your nose up at opportunities that allow you to reach small, but highly targeted activities.
Last but not least, becoming a successful blogger isn't just about blogging. It would be great if we could just write articles and your blog following would magically increase, but unfortunately that it's not how it works. You neet to set aside time every day to build and cultivate your following. And great way to start is by using the strategies listed above.

Good Luck!
