On the internet, content is king. I'm sure you've heard this phrase many times before, but when it comes to article marketing, this is certainly true. In today's time, many people feel that traditional article marketing is ineffective, and that people shouldn't waste their time on it. But if I felt that way about it... I wouldn't be writing up these words that you're reading right now.

To make article marketing effective for you, you have to be consistent with it. You can't just write 5 articles, wait for 2 weeks, and then write another 5 articles. You need to be writing 5 articles per day. The more articles you get out there on the internet, the more likely you are to have success with your article marketing efforts.

Now Google has recently come out with 2 major updates that have devastated some of the major article directories, and content based websites. Even some business owners who were creating articles for their own website on a weekly basis were hurt by these updates. These two updates are called: "Panda", and "Penguin".

Never mind the names... all you need to be concerned about is how you can overcome these updates, and still see the good results from your article marketing efforts. One thing that you need to know is that there are other ways to benefit from article marketing other than just posting to the article directories.

There's a website online called the "Directory of Ezines", and it's comprised of thousands of ezine/email list owners who are actively looking for new content to promote to their list. This is where your article marketing expertise can come in. On this site, you can find list owners in your niche, contact them, and submit your original articles for them to distribute to their subscribers and followers.

Some people feel that this strategy is much more effective than submitting your articles to the article directories! I personally think it's on an equal footing. Article directories can provide you with everlasting traffic, and submitting your content to ezine publishers can get you a ton of traffic in a short period of time.

If you find internet marketing and the sub-niche of "article marketing" daunting, fear not. Once you start, it's going to be like clockwork in the way that you proceed with your article marketing efforts. Writing will become normal and easier, and you will be on the right path to success.

If you're brand new to article marketing, start with 1 article per day first. After 1 month or 2, branch out to 3 articles per day. Then eventually venture out to 5 articles per day. The more content you can write, the better. You want to get as many of your articles out on the internet so that you can get as much exposure as possible.

Take these article marketing tips and use them in your business today. The more you write, the more productive you will be, and the more traffic and sales you will get. Make it a daily habit.
