The Importance Of Math In Internet Marketing

I assure you that no matter what you’re selling online, there are some marketing strategies that can absolutely work for you. The trick to making them work is being consistent with them. Most people think that their business is somehow “different” than other peoples’ business. But this couldn’t be further than the truth.

The first thing that you have to understand is that internet marketing isn’t easy. There are all kinds of things that you have to do and take into consideration of before you do any kind of marketing. What is one of these things that you have to be considerate of? Well, for starters… math.

You have to know the numbers in your business. Without the math making sense, your profits won’t make sense, and you will have a hard time making money in your online business. I used to make this mistake when I first got started out online. I used to think that as long as I get customers, I would have a successful business. But this wasn’t true.

The truth of the matter was that the more I advertised and got new customers, the more money I was losing. I wasn’t doing any backend marketing, I didn’t have a plan set up to make more money from my customers, and eventually… that little venture that I started off with didn’t produce for me anymore.

I’ve learned from my mistake, and I tell you that math is incredibly important for diagnosing how much money you will be making. If you don’t believe me, advertise for a month and get customers, and don’t track your cost per lead, cost per sale, and other maintenance things. I assure you that when the month is over, you will find yourself in a hole full of negative income. You won’t even be on the positive side of things.

Can you see why math is important now? In the words of the great marketing genius Dan Kennedy, his phrase, “It’s all math” is definitely true. The good part about it all is that doing the math isn’t hard at all. Simply pull out a pen and paper and start tracking things. This will make your life a whole lot easier.

Write down your cost to advertise, how much leads your getting, how many of those leads convert into customers, your conversion rate, and the conversion rate of getting your backend customers to buy from you over and over again. This is for starters. If you can get this part down packed, you will be good to go.

Always track your advertising costs, and make sure you advertise in the best areas as possible. You want targeted traffic, not just “hits”. Hits will get you nowhere. For your website, seek out high traffic websites, high traffic blogs, pay per click advertising, and free marketing in your business (to lower your advertising costs).

If you can do the math in your business, you’ll be good to go. I highly advise that you take this into consideration so that you can have the thriving and successful internet business that you’re looking for.

Good luck with having success online.
