Are you doing SEO in your online business? “SEO” stands for “search engine optimization”, and it’s an integral part of your online success. This can be a great way to get tons of free traffic from the 3 major search engines, without having to spend money pay per click advertising.

In today’s lesson, I want to share with you some SEO tips that you can use to boost your traffic, sales, and more customers for your business. These tips are easy to use and easy to put into use - so be sure to act on them starting today. Here’s the first SEO strategy that I would like to share with you:

1) Monitor your keyword density

Keyword density is simply the process of optimizing your web pages around a popular keyword phrase that gets entered into the search engines. You want to make your keyword density around 2% to 3%. This means that for every 100 words on your web page, your keyword phrase should be mentioned 2 to 3 times.

One thing you never want to do is to spam your web page with your keyword phrase. Some people think they can “game” the search engines and manipulate Google by HIDING their keyword phrases in white type, on a white background page. So if you were to see what’s “really” going on these peoples’ pages, you would see that the entire web page is “spotted”, and littered with keyword terms.

Don’t make this mistake. Google’s search bots are getting smarter and smarter by the day, and Google’s engineers know about all the little “tricks” that people try to use online. These are the people who typically get their IP address and website banned from the search results all together. Here’s another search engine marketing tip:

2) Target low competition keywords

You don’t want to go against alot of competition online. Make it easy on yourself by targeting non-competitive keywords that you can easily scoop up some free traffic for. Go to Google’s free keyword tool and use it to find low competition keywords related to the product that you’re trying to sell.

You will have very little competition because everyone is going after the big fish in the market. You can have alot of success scooping up all of the little small fish, and scaling things up in there until there’s no more fish to gather (which will be a long time). Hopefully you get the analogy here.

Many people fear SEO because they feel like it’s waste of time because of all of the algorithm changes and the fact that they can’t find their original content out there in the search engine. Their 1 article is posted onto their site, and the search engines can’t find it anywhere.

But you should stick with it. You should also consider posting your content on a blog. Blogs rank really well online, so this is a great platform to start doing your SEO on. Don’t get discourage… success is on the way, and it can be yours.

Good luck with using SEO in your business.
