Article Marketing - Why You Should Write For Humans

I personally think that you should write for humans when doing your article marketing. Arguments have been made as to whether you should write for search engines or humans, and both sides of the coin have valid points. In this lesson today, I want to talk about the side of the coin that says that “humans” should be written for - not search engines.

Before I get to my points, we have to understand a few things here. How do you expect to convert a real life visitor who have read your poorly written article to click through to your site and buy something from you? Would you buy a product if the article about the product sounded incoherent and absolutely laughable? I think not.

SEO (search engine optimization) has its place in the article marketing realm, but it should be kept to a minimum. Write for your readers’ first and win them over so that you can have the best chance of getting them to do the action that you them to take. But you can’t do this with a poor article that’s centered around getting more views. The people who view your articles won’t do anything!

Look, I know that there are alot of people who do and use article marketing to help out with their search engine marketing efforts. But truth be told, you should only be doing article marketing to help you get new customers. If you want to focus on SEO, focus on it separately, and don’t intertwine it with another marketing strategy.

This isn’t hard to understand. A question that is similar comes from the “copywriting” realm of internet marketing. Some people feel that a long sales description or a long sales letter is better than a short one. Which one do I feel is better? Well, it depends on what you’re selling.

Take a look at the products being sold successfully on Ebay and Amazon. Do you see a very long sales description for the physical products there? Nope. Do you see a long sales description for the paper back and hardcover back books that are being sold there? Nope. Have you ever asked yourself why that is?

Well, it all depends on what you have to sell. Both of these sites get millions of visitors everyday looking to BUY something. But if you have a website that sells and ebook for example… a small short 4 paragraph description won’t sell the ebook. It’s all in the mechanics of what you are selling.

Similarly, when it comes to article marketing, writing solely for search engine rankings will get you nowhere. It’s all about the visitor’s experience and how you convey your message to them in a way that gets it openly received. They will then be inclined to click on your link in your article, and do whatever action you want them to do for your website.

Be sure to take these article marketing results and put them into use in your online business today. Write for humans, and you’ll score big every time.
