Focus: The Not-So-Secret Secret to Succeed in 2009 (Part Three)

In the last post, I had not pointed out that while many programs and gurus sell to the point where the buyer makes a journey through the logical side of the brain and yet make the decision when emotional. To certain extent all of us should do this because there is that element in the decision made that is emotionally driven.

However, I was trying to say that in some cases, where there are numerous critical elements missing, a business will not realistically receive the results which a lot of programs promise. Almost all the promises of results are tickling what I call the 'have it now' gene in all of us. The promise of short-term gains and massive profits and money from the programs being sold prove to be just too irresistible much of the time.

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works because it isn't necessarily true.

Many of the unsuspecting prospects fall for these promises only to discover that the latter results are not anywhere near as promised.

It really does depend on how many critical success elements are already in place in the business which can then be quickly leveraged to bring in a synergy of enhanced results.

So, for many of those whose businesses do not have the foundations in place, it is far better to get down to putting those in place. That way you can monitor and tweak continually, progressively and diligently towards higher performance. Unfortunately, for some it may take up to a year!

There are ways to accelerate the process, reduce risk and leverage results and although I'm saying it again and we have heard this from many warriors here, it is wiser to position strategically than to merely 'poke and jab' with your efforts without a plan in place.

For me, it is always good to keep things in perspective and persevere on a campaign through its entirety. After that, results can increase with momentum as tweaks and adjustments are made.

I guess this is a recap of last post's thoughts to clarify it. Now get to work and focus.
