From Hurricane To John McCain

Such was the week for the Republican party! A slow start in observance of the troubles of those affected by hurricane Gustav followed by a remarkably enthusiastic convention ending with the speech by Senator John McCain as he accepted the nomination of the Republican party for the office of president. The high point of the convention was, no doubt, the exemplary speech by Alaskan Governor Sarah Palen in which she introduced herself to those who were unfamiliar to her and accepted the vice-presidential nomination of the Republican party. A very remarkable speaker and leader, she won the admiration of millions this past few days.

Having watched both conventions, it appears that McCain has made a bold move in selecting Gov. Palen. This was a move that completely caught the Democrat's Obama off guard and changed the dynamics of the campaigning process. If McCain and Palen can keep the momentum going, they appear quite likely to win the election. Their combined experience and sincerity will prove superior to the inexperience of Obama combined with the poor decision track shown by his partner, Senator Joe Biden.
