A slow start in observance of the troubles of those affected by hurricane Gustav followed by a remarkably enthusiastic convention ending with the speech by Senator John McCain as he accepted the nomination of the Republican party for the office of president. The high point of the convention was, no doubt, the exemplary speech by Alaskan Governor Sarah Palen in which she introduced herself to those who were unfamiliar to her and accepted the vice-presidential...

Have you heard the latest? Obama is extolling his vast experience...as a presidential candidate. You heard right! Obama has years of experience all right. But, it is running as a candidate for president. You see, he has been running for president since he took office as a senator. In fact, he has put more effort into the campain (did I spell that right?), than he has put into senatoring. He never had any intention of being a senator beyond doing that as a stepping stone to the presidency....
