Affiliate marketing is one of the most powerful, effective and legitimate methods on the internet to make some real money online. Being an affiliate means you are part of an affiliate program - you need to choose a good affiliate program for your affiliate business. The mistake a lot of affiliates make is joining way too many affiliate programs to try to generate as many income streams as possible and that is why they fail.
I would like to share with you a few common mistakes of affiliate marketing that you need to avoid.
**************************************************
Common Mistake of Affiliate Marketing To Avoid #1:
Joining Multiple Affiliate Programs
**************************************************
Let me ask you this question: If you are in the martial arts, which would make you a more formidable fighter? Practicing 100 different kicks 1 time each? Or practicing 1 type of kick 100 times?
The answer would be to practice 1 type of kick 100 times because you have trained yourself to be able to use that 1 kick in a plethora of situations. Similarly, when applied to affiliate marketing, you need to choose 1 affiliate program or product and focus on it. As an affiliate, you are exposed to lots of temptations to try this affiliate program and that affiliate product. You might be thinking that if you have a lot of products, you’ll have a better chance of making money online! Well, if you’ve got lots of products but you’re not promoting any of them properly, what’s the chance of you making a sale?
The key is to focus.
Focus on 1 first, once that’s successful and you’re getting a kick out of the sales, then you can venture into a new product to promote.

Affiliate Marketing Common Mistake To Avoid #2:
Reinventing The Wheel
**************************************************
Does the wheel work? Why, yes it does, it works perfectly. But the common mistake affiliates make is trying to do affiliate marketing in a new way.
What are the tested and proven methods? Advertising, article marketing, list building, squeeze pages, owning your own unique website, et cetera. Where do you learn how to do these things? Here are some suggestions.
First of all, find people who are already established in the affiliate marketing industry and seek their advice, their guidance, their mentorship.
Secondly, join an active forum which is able to answer all your queries and questions - I recommend joining the Warrior Forum. I’m a member there myself and I get lots of help and tons of support.
Thirdly, get materials that teach you how to succeed in affiliate marketing. I recommend getting Ewen Chia's products because his main market is for newbies (which is an insanely huge niche) and all his products are targetted to teach step-by-step.
**************************************************
Affiliate Marketing Common Mistake To Avoid #3:
Insanity
**************************************************
Insanity? Yes, insanity. I have a quote by the brilliant mister Albert Einstein, he says that insanity is “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results“. Struggling affiliate marketers make the mistake of doing the same thing again and again in hopes of making that sale. If you are a struggling affiliate marketer, you need to stop and review what you are doing.
That doesn’t mean you should quit your current affiliate program or product that your are trying to promote. It means that you need to seek guidance. What you may have been doing up till that date and time is not bringing you the results you want - so you try something else. However, that something else, is really the same thing! You just don’t realise it! This is something similar to a psychological term called schetoma or a perceptual blind spot. It’s there but you can’t see it.
If you can’t see your problem, you will need external guidance to guide you out of the rut.
So there you have it, common mistakes made by affiliate marketers to avoid. Do these things and you will fail in affiliate marketing. Avoid them and you have a much higher, more significant chance of succeeding!
