Small Businesses Don't Exist: Every Business Is a HUGE Business

Posted 12-14-2008 at 10:19 AM by ashwinsatyanarayana

Even if it isn't -- it must be treated that way.

The moment you set out( offline or virtually) out to look for leads, generate cash, hunt for prospects and do business, you are going to form an "Image" in the minds of your customers.

That 'Image' is going to evoke the same emotion from a customer -- whether she is looking at this little one-person business or whether she is looking at a fortune 500 company.

That Image has a lot going for it -- the way you say hello; the way you shake hands ( or others shake hands); the quality of your marketing collateral; the content on your website; the answering machine; the clothes you or your employees wear.

Every darned thing is going to matter.

That's why it's important to :
  • Feel like a million dollar company, even if it is just you thumping away on your keyboard wearing your crumpled pajamas.
  • Leverage Technology and make your business look bigger than it really is.
  • Use Modern applications and software to automate anything " Mundane" and "repetitive" so that you can focus on your customers or business.
  • Let go of things you can't do and allow others to do it -- outsource.
There is no such thing as a Small Business. Businesses can either be " profitable" or "Busted".

Period.
