With so many details to attend to in your network marketing business, it is easy to lose sight of your number one goal: prospecting. When you have a dozen emails to respond to, a pile of paperwork cluttering your desk, down-lines to train, and a company conference to attend, finding new prospects can sometimes get lost in the crowd. Make sure you prioritize your duties to keep prospecting at the top of the list. While your other responsibilities are still important, you don't have a business without any customers.
What Exactly Is Effective MLM Prospecting?
It's a strategy of reaching out and connecting with people who might have an interest in finding out more about your MLM opportunity. Then you direct them to a simple presentation, and then finally you follow up with them to collect a decision.
Are you in or are you out? That's it. That is an effective MLM prospecting system in a nutshell. Don't let this simplicity fool you. Too many people are making this more complicated than it really is.
Learn ways to disqualify people when prospecting. We don't want just anyone in our markets. You need to be able to weed out those people who will not do anything for your bottom line or network. When prospecting, stop focusing on making the sale and focus on whether there is even a sale to be made. If you focus on making the sale, you will end up wasting your time on prospects that will never turn. Now, there is no right or wrong way to prospect either in person or over the phone. But one of the main keys for effective MLM prospecting is CONSISTENCY. It's kinda like if you're working out... what's more effective? Working out 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week to keep in shape or working out 8 hours straight once a month? Same number of hours per month right? But definitely the first workout strategy is more effective. Again, it's consistency that will produce long lasting results.
The second main key to get great results from your MLM prospecting efforts is developing your SKILLS and MINDSET. Such skills include asking the right questions, finding out what your prospects 'hot buttons' and using them to lead to a sale, handling their questions and objections properly.
And when it comes to having the right mindset, I'm talking about your 'position' when talking to a prospect. Do you sound like you are needy to them, that you need them to join your business? Or is it more like they need you and your opportunity to fill a need in their life?
Mindset also includes factors such as your self-image. Do you unknowingly sabotage yourself when you prospect? Are you pushing money away subconsciously because you don't see yourself making lots of money? Hmmm... think about it. Many times the major reason why people fail in this business is not because of their lack of skill... it's because of how they think! Their mindset...
