The logo for your business is important when it comes to branding and marketing, and it should reflect your business in a positive light.

If your logo design is not up to par, you risk the chance of not being so memorable to your customers or clients. Your goal is to stay in business and having a
well-designed logo that conveys the right emotions is a plus for keeping customers and getting future customers.

Now, if you aren't sure about what you want in your logo, I would suggest going back to the drawing board to look at your business and how you want to be perceived. It may seem like more than what it really is, but this is a starting point that will help you get those creative juices flowing.

Here are some other tidbits that you can follow:

1. Go vector

Vector images are great because they are scalable. In other words, they have the ability to look great at tiny sizes or huge sizes without loss of resolution which is exactly what you want. You want your logo to be able to be placed on anything from a business card to human sized poster board.

Just to be on the safe side, consider other mediums as well, such as TV, shipping boxes, publishing and marketing materials, etc. Your logo should be able
to look great anywhere. Vector images can be found just about anywhere online or by visiting sites such as www.dreamstime.com or www.depositphotos.com.

2. Choosing colors and typography (fonts)

What kind of vibe do you want to have?

When you look at Coldwell Banker's logo, they have the color blue with an authoritative type. This combination is said to build trust among higher net-worth individuals.

Now look at McDonald's logo. It's red and yellow, not to mention memorable, and looks like an smile that's inverted. What did this do?

It created a sense of fun for family and kids since the beginning up until now.

So, ask yourself about the vibes you want to create because it has a large influence on the right colors and typography for your logo.

Start with the vibe first and then decide on the color and specific type. Not sure about types? Visit www.dafont.com and look at the countless varieties there.

3. Look at different designs

A professional logo designer will more than likely produce a few different designs and have you choose the one you like best. This is a good thing because
when you are presented with options, you can get a better idea of what direction you want to go. This can be an easy process when you actually see the visuals
in front of you. You can even let it sit for a day or two before coming back to it and deciding which one to proceed with.

Take this time to get feedback from friends, colleagues, or even customers to see which one they like best.

While your logo design is both scientific and artistic, the main thing to consider is how it represents your business. It should look good on everything and
everyone should be able to remember your name.
